First post, glad to of found this forum I am looking at getting back in to a Ram again, looking at a 2020 Ram 2500 4x4 6.4 Hemi. Is their anything I should look for when I go look at the truck? The trans should be an 8 speed ZF, correct?
it is a base Bighorn, how are the headlights? My 17 Ram 1500 had horrible headlights.
Thanks,
Will.

The exhaust tick, squeak that so many of us love to agonize about on every startup. Have the windows down when you start it and see if you can put up with that.

Yes all 2019 and newer hemi 2500s have the ZF 8 speed.
3 levels of headlights: base halogen, mid-tier LED reflector, and top-tier LED projector .
I have the mid level LED and they are very good.
The LED projector are only on Limited and 75th Anniversary Power Wagons. The LED reflector are optional on the Big Horn.

That stuff does not bother me, not like it happens to every vehicle. Truck is still out on it's short term lease, but will roll down windows on the test drive.
Before I joined this forum, I did google searches on maintenance - are you running Amsoil 0W40 in yours?
Thanks.

How are the base halogen? Can they be upgraded to mid level LED?

Couldnt tell you as I haven’t driven a truck with them.
Yes people on this forum have upgraded from the base halogen to the reflector LED, i believe it is plug and play plus programming it in alphaOBD. I don’t think the top end projector LEDs are plug and play though.

Best truck I've ever owned, hands down. You'll love it. The startup tick is nothing really. Once it warms up it disappears. Enjoy.

how much are they asking for it? The 1-2 year old used truck market is STUPID right now. Most used trucks are going for above what their MSRP was when it was new!

Everything on the lot that is new is a diesel, which I want nothing to do with. We will talk turkey when the lease expires.

I just paid $54K plus tax title etc on a 21 2500 Hemi Laramie Level A night edition Megacab with a snow plow prep package. A quick look on cars.com shows that most 2020 Bighorn crew cab Hemi's with 15-25K on them are selling for what I just paid for mine new. I started out looking for used, but in the end it just didnt make sense financially, so I ordered what I wanted, and got more truck for my money vs buying used.

You must be in USA, because you will not get that truck up here for that price. Factor our weak dollar in to the equation, it really adds to the price.
The truck is spec’d exactly how I Want it.

Still running PUP, no problems with lifter tick. Do have that exhaust tick, but like others said, it disappears after a minute or two of warm-up. Truck has been great. I had to seat all the fuses, straighten the cab to align with the bed and proper alignment to Thuren specs when new. I was a little peaved about that at the start, but otherwise no issues over the past two years.

Great, thank you. I had great luck PUP in my Jeep and Ram. Once I get this Ram, will stick with PUP.
